To assist Purfleet customers in selecting the most appropriate type of flooring for their home or commercial environment, we’ve penned a page comparing them. After all, these days it can be difficult to know which will be the best option – gone are the times when carpets were the default option for living rooms, vinyl flooring for kitchens etc. There are a few different ways to approach flooring, whatever the task at hand… For more advice, tailored to your individual situation, simply pick up the phone and call Steve’s Carpets on 01322 387 515.
Choosing the Right Flooring Material
Carpets – Still number one for raw comfort under-foot, carpets are ideal for any area of a home that isn’t subject to a high level of moisture in the air, or regular spillages. For this reason, we rarely recommend carpets for bathrooms or kitchens, where vinyl flooring or Karndean / Amtico Flooring products are often more appropriate. Soft and sumptuous, deep pile carpets can be ideal for bedrooms and living rooms, where bare feet will be kept warm and cushioned, while short pile and hardwearing carpets are best suited to stairs, hallways and similar high-traffic areas within a Purfleet home.
But what about commercial premises? Carpets can be tricky to incorporate within retail outlets and anywhere selling food and drink, due to the fact that they can require far more maintenance than synthetic alternatives, and be at risk of staining and tearing. However, hard wearing carpets can be ideal to create a comfortable and homely environment within Purfleet offices and similar premises.
Vinyl Flooring – An affordable and extremely functional flooring style that’s resistant to moisture and staining. Some of our Purfleet customers flinch at the mention of vinyl flooring, recalling the old lino of the 60s and 70s which was as flimsy as it was ugly. But rest assured that the vinyl flooring of yesteryear bears no real resemblance to our range of luxury vinyl flooring products, sourced from manufacturers including Karndean and Amtico flooring, makers of innovative flooring solutions that have become bona fide household names. If you want something hardwearing and versatile, these products are great options. Available in a huge range of colours and styles, they can even mimic natural materials like stone and wood.
Wood Flooring – Steve’s Carpets is proud to be known as Purfleet’s trusted installer of engineered wood flooring. Choose engineered wood when you want a durable, long-lasting natural floor, without the expense or degree of maintenance linked to solid wood flooring. Engineered wood flooring can be used in hallways, bedrooms, kitchens, retail outlets – anywhere you can think of, really. It’s simply a fantastic all-rounder that is aesthetically unrivalled if your taste is for going au natural.
